Inception Performance Group works with senior leaders, executive teams and the organizations they lead across three connected areas of practice.
Executive Performance
Helping senior leaders perform through pressure, transition, and expanded mandates.
For senior leaders and high-potential executives navigating complexity, transition, people management challenges, or increased performance expectations.
Typical situations
Executives stepping into larger roles
Leaders under pressure
High performers whose strengths are becoming overused
Successors preparing for enterprise leadership
Leaders managing larger, more complex, or underperforming teams
Leaders needing greater presence, delegation, communication, or decision effectiveness
Leaders leave this work with a clear view of the patterns that drive their performance, practical shifts that hold under pressure, and measurable gains in leadership presence, resilience, communication, and decision-making effectiveness.
The work includes executive coaching, leadership transitions, and high-potential talent development.
On the Return from Coaching
Executive coaching is still widely mistaken for remediation — something arranged when a leader is struggling. At senior levels the opposite is true. The work does not coach a weakness out of a leader; it raises the ceiling on what they are able to carry.
That ceiling is usually the binding constraint. In a business under growth or pressure, the limit is rarely the market or the product. It is the capacity and judgment of the person everything routes through, and the quality of the decisions made when there is no one above them to help them shape how to think about it.
Which is what makes the return so disproportionate. Every decision a leader improves is multiplied across the people and commitments that depend on it, and the leverage is greatest before problems grow large enough to demand attention. Investing in how a leader leads is not an indulgent or superfluous line on the budget. It is the most accountable one.
Organizational Effectiveness
Helping executive teams and organizations perform through growth, transformation, and change.
For executive teams and organizations in critical periods: scaling, integrating, restructuring, or building new capability.
Typical situations
Executive teams that must align quickly around a new strategy or operating model
Organizations absorbing growth, acquisition, or restructuring
Transformation programs that depend on leadership capability, not only on plans
Organizations navigating AI adoption and the organizational change it demands
Aligned leadership teams, an operating model that matches the strategy, and change that holds because the people leading it are equipped to lead it.
The work includes team effectiveness, leadership alignment, transformation and change advisory, and operating model counsel and design.
On AI Adoption
Most organizations treat AI adoption as a technology decision. The real performance risk sits with people — the leaders and teams who must change how they work.
Adoption stalls when roles, decision rights and everyday workflows stay where they were, and no tool resolves that. The harder question is which judgments should remain human, and leaders are being asked to answer it while they are still learning the technology themselves. Inception advises executive teams on how to approach AI adoption as what it is: an intellectual shift and an organizational transformation.
The work is clarifying where AI genuinely changes the operating model, what capability leaders need in order to lead the change credibly, and how to sequence it so the change holds.
Leadership Insight
Helping leaders and teams understand the patterns that drive their performance.
For leaders, teams, and organizations that want objective insight beneath performance questions: selection, onboarding, development and succession planning.
Typical situations
Executives onboarding into new mandates
Teams that need a shared language for how they operate under pressure
Succession and hiring decisions that carry enterprise risk
Coaching engagements where objective insight accelerates development
A shared, objective language for how leaders and teams operate under pressure, and a faster route to the shifts that matter.
The work includes TAIS-based assessment, executive onboarding, team alignment, and talent selection and succession planning support.
Assessment, Grounded in TAIS
Assessment work at Inception is grounded in TAIS, The Attentional and Interpersonal Style inventory, which measures how leaders concentrate, process information, and interact with others in demanding performance environments.
TAIS helps identify how a leader focuses attention, processes complexity, communicates, makes decisions, and responds under pressure. The value is not in labelling the leader, but in helping them understand the patterns that drive performance — and the situations where those same patterns can become limiting.
The insight is delivered where it is most useful: within executive coaching, across intact teams, and in organizational decisions such as succession and selection.
